Company bought one of these two weeks ago, brand new. since then it's broken down 4 times on the motorway. Basically the hose keeps coming off the Turbo, it's happened twice this week and twice last week. Strangest thing is it keeps doing it in the exact same spot every time (when he gets near Forton services).

I thought Mitsubishi were supposed to be pretty bulletproof? Why does it keep doing this (after being reassured every time it happens it won't happen again) and how on earth can they stop it happening? I told him he should take it back and demand a different one.

Hose comng off isn't that much of a reliability issue. probably just needs securig better. It takes a decent amount of boost to pop off a hose if it's attached correctly.

The last guy that fixed it said that he'd done a few of these and it was down the engine being steam waxed before the hose is fitted causing it to be greasy and slide off. He gave everything a good clean and said there was no way it should come off again!

eek What gave you that idea? Their diesels especially have a very poor reputation on this side of the world. Heard about a Pajero a while back that had half a valve drop off for no apparent reason, bounce around on top of the piston for a while, then find its way out through the turbo. Messy stuff.
