I'm looking at spicing up my Impreza P1 a bit. It's currently only got a miltek de-cat pipe on it. I'm looking for around 350bhp. The car will not see too many miles at it is to retire from everyday use and become a show and trackday car but i would like it fairly bombproof(without being excessive not like its running 500bhp). What would you recommend for this sort of performance. parts/prices/fitting?
cheers people.

They have chocolate engines, and many need rebuilds by 40k from what I have seen, even with the mildest of tuning.

You would be best off speaking to a specialist like Scoobyclinic, as they will know how far things can be pushed, and what needs strengthening along the way:

They DON'T have chocolate engines, and many modified examples last better than the standard ones...

The engine is essentially the same as in my type RA. Getting to 330ish BHP is quite straight forward - decent decat exhaust, panel filter and ECUTek remap by someone like Bob Rawle or Andy Forrest (plus a few others) Safety items should include a boost gauge and knock link and you won't go far wrong.

correct! i rebuilt one last october. very nice engine, good forged pistond, decent crank as a standard part, pins are a bit of a pig to get in and out and you can skip with the cambelt if you get bored. all good fun.
