S2k but only becuase the roof comes off. From a drivers perspective a 350Z coupe.
However, if it were my money, i'd be driving a VX Turbo.
However, if it were my money, i'd be driving a VX Turbo.
But a VX is a very different car to live with day to day, no luggage space to speak of, crap heater but cracking handling and performance.
As a second car the VX is great, but as an only car I think its just not practical enough, hence why I swapped from a VX to a 350Z

That's why i said if it were my money
I'd be having a VX and keeping a daily snotter. Gazboy said:

I would rather have the supra as well but it is very difficult to find one that hasn't been frigged by boy racers, plus they are getting on a bit now.
They were made until 2002, and quite a few are standard. As for 'frigged' do you genuinely expect a sports car not to be driven with a bit of spirit? If you are worried about a car being given ten tenths then you should discount the S2000 and perhaps the RX8 straight off the bat.
'Frigged' in the sense of slapping a load of body kit on and baked beans can exhaust. I have no problem with a car that has been driven the way they were intended to be, hence why I currently have the Integra.

would you have a Honda S2000, a Nissan 350Z or a Mazda RX8?
We are looking for a replacement for our DC2 Integra and want something fun and Japanese. Our budget is £17k.
Any other ideas welcome.

Of those choices the 350. I do like the RX-8 for it's engine and interior but still don't get the outside much as I'd love to love it.
As for other reccomendations... what're you after? Hard-core sports car that's going to lap up track miles or something with presence and cruisability that's comfortable?
I'm a rabid RX-7 fan and would almost always say 'just ffin buy one' but 17k would be a mint example (10k) that'd been heavily tweaked with serious power...

It is highly unlikely that the car will ever make it onto a track. We have had the teg for 3 years now and never put it on the track. We want a comfortable car for motorway cruising but still with plenty of poke to go around the peaks and North Wales. Preferably we would like something that comes with no mods, it is just too expensive to insure a modified car.
Any ideas how far away the new supra is?

From a £17k budget? Light years.
I'd look at something like a Skyline too - pretty comfy and pokey enough. 17k would get something interesting I'd think.
RX-7 isn't for you.

If you can wait a short while the VVTi Supras will start being imported again.
i think this caused some "new supra" confusion. What turbo T means is that they will start importing supras again (not the current 93-94 only models).
Can you fill me in on any of this turbo-T? will it mean other late-model japanese cars will be allowed in (Rx-7, Fairlady etc) that are post-94?
