Anybody else have poor experiences of 2005 Impreza rear brakes squeaking at town speeds?

They said they were serviced before I bought the car so give them a chance to bed in.

Well they had 3k miles to bed in, had dealer attention twice since(Stripped & cleaned apparently) and they still squeak, worse in cold a damp.

I had a MY05 Scooby WRX .... and they didn't squeak at all - they were rubbish mind but didn't squeak ! I changed the pads for the uprated Prodrive ones .... which were loads better ..... and also didn't squeak. Seems a bit odd if they are standard pads and discs - uprated ones have a habit of squeaking but not usually standard stuff.

I have got a 04 car and the pads dont squeak at all..

They are the same breaks just the calipers are painted red rather than leaving them black!

I haven't asked yet but I'll be visitng asap to stir it. They're losing any chance of servicing income if they cannae get this right.

3 Hondas, 2 vauxhalls, 1 VW, and 1 Austin previously with no squeaky brakes. Ok, the Metro didn't have brakes but that isn't the point.

Get some aftermarket pads as OEM are rubbish.....EBC Redstuff/Yellowstuff, Ferodo DS2500, Mintex 1144. Much better than OEM nd no squealing or squeaking

There where some slight issues on some OE pads which resulted in squeal, although it never caused problems with safety. This occured last year and has now been addressed. You should ask for replacement pads as no OE pads should squeal these days, plus I would be interested in which pad manufacturer this garage is using.
