Need to put 4 new tyres on my '99 200sx. Currently got F1s which were great to start with but, as they've worn, now tramline terribly. Any suggestions?

It's a while back but when I had an S14 it was on Bridgestone SO2's which were great .....

I thought I'd try and save a bit of money by going onto Pirellis but the car hated them - it screeched when going round even low speed corners and handled terribly. I went back to the garage I got them from and they agreed with me and changed them to SO2's at no cost to me. The problems went when the car was back on Bridgestones. I will never attempt to save a few ££££'s on tyres again !

SO2's obviously aren't about but I would say whatever they produce now in the right size should be fairly OK ....

F1's are widely reagrded as the best tyre for standard rim.

P6K Pirelli's are horrific, especialy in the wet. I've got Toyo's on my S14 wheels, which are pretty good, but I've only used them in the dry.

On the front of my car I have Yoko Neova's, which are ace, but I'm not sure if you can get them in this country (came off an import car)

having had bad experiences with blowouts on F1's I'll recommend toyo's before them every time.
I'm fully aware that my experiences are not representative, but 3 blowouts in short succession is enough to put me off.

Greetings all, particularly my good friend Stu R!

I have found Kumho's KU31s to be an extremely good VFM tyre. I have a set on my "Heap of Dogshit" (christened by JC) and they work very well indeed. Their rally tyres aren't too bad either.

Are you on the original wheels, so 205/55/16s I believe?
