Just acquired a 92 Zed with an S-AFC box fitted.... bit wary of it as the car's been fairly well modded and we don't want to end up running lean or provoking detonation. Haven't got a manual and am struggling to find one online... any 'safe' settings to use until we suss it?

No, you need to get it checked/setup using a wide band lambda sensor if you are running a modified setup.

If it was stock you could set the corection factors to 0 to give you the same fueling as stock. Manual is on the link below.

Gen 1 or Gen 2 SAFC? The old school gen 1's have 5 rotating adjusters on the front. Not a lot of cop imo (we ripped it out straight off), works by fooling ecu by making it think greater vol of dense air is passing thru. Gen2's are little more sophisticated.

Thats the first electronic version, SAFC.

The functionality is very similar to the SAFC2, so you should be able to work out how to use it refering to the manual for the SAFC-II i posted earlier.

The main diference is you have individual buttons, rather than a rotating selector.

First thing you should do is go into the "ETC" setup menu and make a note of all the settings. Then go into the "SETUP" menu and note all the settings in there.
