Uprated / recon Gearbox Skyline R32

Depends what you want, OSG do a 3 gear kit or a 5 Gear kit.
The three gear kit basically only replaces 1, 2 and 3. 4th gear is the input shaft which OSG also do an uprated version of.
The 5 gear kit obviously replaces them all.
With the uprated input shaft they're quoted as being 800bhp capable
PPG do dog engagement boxes, think they're around 4-5k, and not civilised.
HKS do the airshifter box which is a work of art, and commands work of art prices
think 10k plus.
OSG is definately the most common close ratio aftermarket box, and pleanty of people run them without trouble. I'll be running one when the new engine goes in.

The problem i have is a constant whinning from the box, the pitch goes up with engine revs. Drop the clutch and the sound goes.Drop the clutch with the car coasting and the noise is still there until the car stops moving
Clutch release bearing I hear you say, Wrong. The bearing was replaced when I uprated the clutch. The noise was there before and after this.
its doing my t1ts in and getting worse. I assume at some point whatever is causing it will give way and knacker the box, so the car is not used at present.
Any ideas?

Input shaft or it's bearing are often to blame, I'd guess at the bearing itself. Though if the teeth are mashed a bit they could also be to blame, but bearing is most likely.
Have you tried changing the gearbox oil lately? Can often work wonders mate.
A lot of skyline owners, myself included swear by "shockproof" gear oil. Certainly got rid of the ever so slight crunch i was getting going into 3rd, and the gearbox wasn't nearly as hot as it got before.
It won't eradicate the problem entirely, but it will often help to ease the effects and get a bit more life out of it.
Gearbox oil coolers are another worthwhile consideration, I'm sure you'll know as well as I do how warm it gets, why they don't all have gearbox oil coolers as standard is beyond me.

The bearing you should be able to get relatively easily.
Changing it isn't all that straight forward though, never attempted it on a GTR, not going to
Any of the tuners / specialists should be able to get ahold of parts for you, I always recommend APT in norwich as I know and trust Gary, and he does bloody good work without the silly labour bills. www.ap-tuning.co.uk. He'll not have a problem getting parts.
Abbey will also be able to, as will RB motorsport I should think.
Personally I'd either consider getting the gearbox freshened up or buy a second box, get them swapped over, and rebuild and / or sell the other one to get some reimbursment.
Don't know how far from any of the tuners you are, but it might be worth swinging by to get their opinion before jumping in, as they'll hear it first hand and be able to give you a more definate answer to what the problem is, as there's obviously a few things moving around in a gearbox so it's hard to be conclusive without hearing it.
