1998 Mitsubishi Galant replacement key
Discussion
Hi All,
I bought one of these on Saturday (2.5 V6 24v
) and I'm extremely happy with it. I had to buy a "practical" car as the wife is pregnant at the moment and she probably won't be able to get in and out of the MR2 comfortably once she's bigger
The car is fantastic - very tidy and has a full mitsubishi service history etc... but it only came with one key + remote alarm fob. Is there any way I can get a copy made of these cheaply? I'm sure the main dealer would be happy to oblige but I'm equally sure that they would charge several hundred pounds for it as well.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

What sort of alarm is it - I'm not sure what the Galants had as standard, but the FTOs were pretty much all fitted after purchase.
As for the keys, Mitsubishi aren't that expensive as they usually use the same parts bin for all their cars. My spare was 12 quid a few years ago, but that was without the little black pastic bit at the top...

Unfortunately I need to get the key from Mitsubishi as it will need to be coded to the immobiliser so I guess they can charge what they like there within reason
i managed to get a spare remote fob from eBay for £20 but have since found out that I need to have some sort of master over-ride key in order to be able to program this to my car... I'm off to a Cobra dealer in town this weekend to see what they suggest.
Thanks for the feedback.
