I have just bought a Rx7, with a slight difference, powered by the venrable Rover V8. Now I may be daft but are there any others out there and is there a Rx7 owners club? I am sure you will love the brown interior. Still it will be fun and lots of tinkering to do.

Cheers

As soon as I work out how to post pics I will. It drives very well, a little understeer, but then you have to torque to get the back end out.

Yes & Yes. www.mazdarotaryclub.com

The V8 transplant is not my thing, but how does the performance compare to the rotary ?. You must lose some performance but gain mega reliability.

Guys, thanks for the messages, I am not yet driving it permanently, I have to pick it up in a couple of weeks. Performance, I had a TR7V8 previously and it was similar. I have never driven a rotary engined car except the efini twin turbo (scared the shit out of me) so I can't really compare.

The engine is only 45Kgs heavier, and produces a lot more torque and similar BHP (150-160) as the series II so I imagine it will be similar.

Do you have to have a web site to post photos?

Thanks and regards

PS it is a fixed head coupe.

I am having some issues with posting pics. I have put them on photobucket, and linked them but with no luck. nyway it is a 1984 FB, in a mint blue colour, the V8 fits in very nicely, even the battery is in the same place. The car is pristine underneath, and everywhere else. I have some tidying to do to the engine bay as is is a bit tatty, but I was astonished at it's condition. I was going to get the ICE sorted, but why buy a nice engine and block out the sound!

Any more posting advice would be good.

I've got an FC with a rover V8. It's kinda a work in progress atm, so hasn't driven anywhere. Hopefully it will in the next week or so.....

Best pic I can find for now:
