I have been talking to a Nissan cxar salesman, so I am assuming this is wrong. As he usually is about most car subjects.

In their showroom they have a "Nismo" 350Z that he says has had its engine tuned by NISMO, and you can buy them off the shelf. He says the engine has 340bhp at the wheels.

I always thought the Nismo versions just had superficial mods on them?

Can anyone confirm this, as suddenly they may well have gone up in my estimation. Are Nismo becoming like AMG? and doing a lot more with Nissan Involvement for general public?

A quick look on google shows a Nismo 350Z S2 which has around 320bhp, but no where near 340 at the wheels. He might be getting confused with the supercharged version

Nismo have tuned various Nissans to various power levels over the years (like the 400R Skyline, 270R Sylvia, Stagea 260RS, R34GTR Z-tune etc - www.nismo.co.jp/products/completecar/index.html )

However the Fairlady Z S-tune GT on their website (350Z to us) is only quoted at 300bhp, so I have no idea where the guy got 340 @ wheels from.

Im a toyota man myself so know very little about Nissan.

I did wonder, as my car is significantly faster and although I only have 50kg less and 10bhp at the wheels more than the 340. He was indeed left standing.

I will enjoy calling him a lying salesman who knows nothing about what he is selling.

Tell me which dealer has the car and I can tell you if he is right, although I can probably be 99% sure he is not as there are none in the UK unless this is a converted car by others but will not be a factory car.
