Mitsi Evo 6..... any good
Discussion
Well the P1 is a great car as is the 22B and they both hold excellent values but then again on the EVO side of things, and if you are dead set on a VI, go for the Tommy Makinen Limited Edition car. Holds good values and very hard to come by really mint and untouched/unmodified examples.
I can reccommend an EVO VI as I have one. I have the RS2 version which is the light weight one with no active yaw interference.
No real reliability issues as long as they haven't been modded too far.
Basic mods ie. slightly raising boost level and air filter etc. sees a nice reliable car that accelerates very nicely indeed.
The brembo brakes take a lot of punishment with no problems at all.
Some of them to be honest are easily warped but most are ok.
11k to 12k sees you getting a very nice clean example. Make sure you do FULL checks on the car before buying. There are thieving scum pikeys that steel these types of cars to order, and can cover up previous identity of the car to the unsuspecting buyer.

Last year I managed to find a mint VI for under £12K and the best bit was it only had 14,000 miles on the clock, no mods and had been garaged from new as part of a car collection. Really wanted a Tommi Mak but they were several thousand pounds more. I also never looked at a VII onwards as I think the shape is boring, plus the VI's aggressive style takes me back to a classic rally era with the 22B's & Evo's battling for supremacy. And if you watch the 5th gear clip the VI was quicker on track (than a IX).

Would be tempted to sell mine but I'd only go out and buy a Tommi Mak, plus I have only managed to get the odometer up to 16,000 miles and I should really make an effort to get out more in it
There seems to be a few recent import VI's that are up for sale after only being with their owners for a few months, perhaps ones to avoid if they are hiding repair bills.
Couple more vids for you, and good luck in your hunt, also look at www.rgmotorsport.co.uk for alternative servicing costs
