really hoping someone can shed some light on my problem.

i P/X my alfa 156 on pistonheads classifieds for a g reg UK mr2 mk2.

just about got it home after breaking down a couple of times ? it was the headgasket, so ive had that done and now its developed a misfire, but only when the engine is up to operating temp. from cold it drives fine.

ive replaced the rota arm, dizzy ,plugs and leads but still no joy.

feel like ive been done over good and proper frown

Might be the coil pack, its a square box at the back of the engine bay on the passenger side, located about halfway up the panel that separates the boot. Hope the makes sense. Ive seen one before that was cracked. Have a ring around a few scrap yards.

Who did the gasket for you?

If they just replaced the gasket and did not inspect the head it could be damaged. A crack somewhere in the head or even if its warped may be the cause of your problem.

using the existing leads, i have put them on a mates mr2 and his on mine but still the same and no probs with his.

were gonna swap the coil pack with his next week when i get a chance.

i done the headgasket ! also had head checked and skimmed. got good compression on all 4 cylinders, between 12-14 bar in each

any other ideas guys n gals ?

Just running standard leads then? When I put Magnecours on my rev 2 Turbo I had no end of trouble, as did a few other owners I know of.

Try reading ECU error codes;

Those are for the turbo but I think some of them are common. If you get a no-code result then at least we've ruled that out.
