Anyone know anything about these cars? This is the celica supra that preceded the supra mk3. Online resources, personal experience, buyers guides, that kind of thing. I'm going to see one tomorrow and would like to go armed with info.

Thanks,

Mark

www.celica-club.co.uk

There are several owners on here who will be able to help - even have a dedicated forum for them.

A mate has got one, just dropped the engine out of it.

Usual 80's jap thing to look for. Rust, rust and more rust.

What would you like to know ? I had one for 7 years. Wish I had never let it go because it was a true 'totally mint' example. It had only done 34000 miles when I purchased it.

Some chap on CCUK has just joined and posted up pics of the new (old) Celica he's picking up tonight;

Fapping gorgeous and a Rover V8 lump in it!

Proper retro cool and I hope more people rescue these lovely cars. Rust isn't THAT big an issue, but yes, it's there on some.

Sorry I didn't reply.

Went to see this one a couple of days ago...

...very nice, a bit soft for what I want it for and crying out for a bigger engine. Nice car though.

Thanks anyway.

Mark

i owned a celica supra for 2 yrs, C50 FAX, i loved it, but 160bhp by todays standards in a car of that size is a bit underpowered esp as mine was an auto, there used to be a guy in godreaman in s wales who had a modded manual version in black, awesome car...

Hiya.
I own a 1986 2.8i Celica Supra. C 58 WDF. Had it since 1991 !

Due to an intermittent starting problem it has been parked up for some while. However, all that is about to change.

I have just started restoring it as I always missed the feel of driving it. It got looks, ( and pleas for me to sell it ! ), where ever I went. I used to love going head-to-head with the old Capri 2.8s. Happy days.

Despite the expense of the restoration, ( and fuel ), I hope to have it going again asap. As soon as I can source a fuel pump for it !

All the Best.

Hi Riknos
Okay. Will do.

I see you are going for two wheels now. Good for you. I ride an GSX F750. Not a new one but it does me. Want a Honda Blackbird. Am 'negotiating' this purchase with "The long haired General" aka my wife !

Ref the CBRs. I would still love to get hold of an old 'Urban Tiger' CBR9 Fireblade.

All the Best.
