just bought it & im a little bemused by the fact that the timing chain does not need replacing-ever...
Is this true?! I phoned a local garage & toyota themselves, but m amazed that they have such confidence in the engine...Its done 100,000miles already so need some advice if/before it goes pop!

My old 54 Reg MR2 Convertible (1.8 vvti) was the exact same.

At the dealership, I asked when the timing belt/chain would need replacing (even though the car had only done 9000 miles ) and they simply said "never".
