Import Impreza

I am interested in buying a 2003 low mileage high grade Impreza STI from a Japanese auction. I have looked at loads of Auction sites and found http://www.auto.co.jp. I am trying to find a reputable SVA prep and test place in Liverpool. I therefore have a couple of questions:

- Any recommended SVA prep and test places?
- Any things you guys would avoid by importing?
- Whats resale impact of a Jap import? Are they usually £1k cheaper than a UK car when sold 2nd hand?
- Any ideas what BHP the Jap car is versus the UK spec?

There are plenty of jdm imprezas here already for sale, any particular reason why you're importing one yourself?
