Anyone bought or driven a GB270.

I'm very tempted by the RB320, but saw a GB270 in a local dealership last weekend and have booked a test drive.

Thanks.

The 270 will be nothing like the 320. One's a WRX, despite a few extra prodrive horses with other bits added, and the other is a megabeefed up STi. Both drive differently and it all depends on what you want to do with it.

The WRX is a fast reliable 4dr everyday use performance car in which you can do shopping in and B road blats galore where most will be hard pushed to keep up with you,

or
a superfast 4dr rally style turbo nutter bastard good looking( in black cloud9 ) super performance car which you definately won't see which way it went on a B road or circuit come to that, and be able to do the shopping, have a major blat home sporting a grin from ear to ear after just having embarrassed the owner of a 2 or 3 times the price supercar on the way home.

The WRX is good but the 320 is much better. How much are you spending?, and 320's are commanding a bit of a premium if you can find one for sale.

Personally, if you have a budget for an RB 320, dont waste your money on the UK270. If you dont have the budget for the RB, still dont waste your money on the UK270. You can save thousands by getting a Euro WRX and making some carefull mods and end up with a more powerful car. Ok, it wont be a limited edition or have fancy seats, but it will be a special car and just as capable if not more so. That said, if you have the money to do this, get a hawkeye Sti with about 15k on it. I didnt do it because i didnt have the budget at the time to get a new Sti and there were none around second hand as i bought it when it was first released. But if i had the money now it would be a second hand Sti.wink

Just if anyones interested, I'm getting my GB270 wagon tomorrow.

Company car, so an STI wouldn't have been any good for my tax bill or to do 25k miles a year.

A practical estate that'll still put a smile on my face. If you find another new estate car for £21400 with that performance please let me know. And yes, I did get over £1500 discount on it so if you're considering one push hard for a deal.

Bad luck my neighbours.........they thought my last car was loud

I saw and followed 'my' first GB270 last night, does look good, and the owner was obviously prepared to give it a squirt, didn't seem to keen on being kept up with by my old Forester though....

You must have the 2.0L or 2.5L XT. I know they aren't slow and in all honesty just a bit heavier and softer than a WRX, nevertheless, shedloads of fund round corners i bet hehe

I was told the RB320 are hard to come by.
Dealer in Perth kept his one allocation for himself.
