The official nordschleife time is 7:38 which seems incredible for a car that heavy. It will be interesting to see what sport auto make of it.

At first I thought 'wtf heavy!' but thinking back, all GTR's have been heavy old beasts, and yet they're still blimmin' rapid. Torque helps I suppose!

The R33 GTR is around 1500kgs about the same weight as a R32 Golf

That new one is a barge in comparison

The specs keep on changing. Is the above confirmed?

I thought it was going to have about 520bhp and that it was going to be around 1500kg.

At 1740kg, it's too heavy even with a good slab of power and torque.

I would be surprised if a fueled and lubed R33 GT-R came in under 1600kg
The R34 was nearly 1700kg.

This car has a bigger engine and has to meet much tougher safety regulations.
This is about the same weight as an M6 which isn't that bad considering the 4WD and 4WS.

Yes it would have been nice if it was 150 or 200kg lighter but it would have cost 60-70% more.
