Charge cooler fluid level.

The most common code the car will throw.

Buy some toyota red coolant.
Take cap off charge cooler.
Start engine.
Top up.
Blip throttle (you'll see the level drop as the pumps start. Top up with throttle slightly open.
Put cap back on.
Turn engine off.
Reset ECU.

Robert is your fathers brother.

Sorry Mr E it is knock sensor (code 54 is Chargecooler)

52 - KNK Open or short circuit in Knock Sensor Check for broken/brittle wire, check sensor correctly torqued up, check sensor terminal not covered with oil/shorted out, replace sensor, shake sensor - it shouldn't rattle! There should be no continuity between the centre pin and the body of the KS

Likely your knock sensor is dead m8 - a real PITA to change and TBH they typically die either due to old age or shedlaods of knock (bye bye engine time) What is the cars specs? Modded?

On teh back of the black. Just under the inlet manifold where it enters the the engine (i.e on teh block just below the head!) IIRC you can touch it by removing inner wheel arch liners but I don't think you can see it.

boocks - I can't believe I mixed 52 and 54 up. Apologies.

Just goes to show the last time my car threw a code at me (was ABS, and took months to sort).
