Wife's Gen 5 Celica was taken out for a run yesterday in the heaving rain, only to have water coming in through the sunroof. Inside it was coming through the join in the middle of the headlining panel, where it folds if you tilt the roof.

Get home, umbrella up - slide sunroof back annnnnd..... nothing, dry as a bone. The whole area around the sunroof was completely water free. confused

Anyone got any idea's - is there anyway for water to get between the metal outer and the headlining without trace being visible in the recess when the roof is open?

Is it definitely coming through the sunroof? I know from Mk2 CRXs that water can get in through the rear window washer which is on the roof, and collect it the headlining before working its way out in various places.

Could also be the drains from the roof to the floor are blocked with crud. There should be a small hole somewhere with a plastic tube running down the A frame and exiting probably in the wheel arch area. Get a long thin rod and give it a shove.

Ahh - might have to have a look at the rear screen jet, as I can't see any evidence anywhere of where it's coming in at all (which is why I'm a bit stumped.)

Had a look for some drains originally but couldn't find them - will resume the search this evening if it isn't peeing down again. It's all pretty clean and shiny in there though!
