im thinking about buying one(an st205 94-99spec) anything i should look out for aside from the dodgy superstrut suspension???

just the usual things on a turbo car to look out for like service history, excessive turbo noise, condition of engine bay pipe work etc.
They are solid cars to be fair. The fig-8 as you mention is usually the big check.
If an import then do the usual checks for MOT requirements and all that (ie. has it been SVA'd properly)

Not a lot, as discussed.

Clutches are expensive, so beware.

Rear diff mounts also fail (thumping from the back when shutting the throttle off violently). Cheap and easy to fix. Apart for that, all the usual really.
