Hi - toying with getting another Subaru, this time a Subaru Legacy GTB Twin Turbo estate.

However, since this would effectively be the family runabout, I have to at least cast an eye a little at how thirsty it is.

I can love with "bad" just not maybe "Jesus H Christ you have to be kidding" mpg.

Anybody had one so I know what ballpark figure the mpg is in?
Cheers

Between 20 and 30, less if you make progress. I have seen almost a quarter of a tank gone in 50 miles before smile

Nice SWB GP you have there, only yesterday I was in my dad's loft and found some photos from a Beetle Bash in the very early 90s, went with my mate in his old one. No seatbelts, no protection in a crash whatsoever. Fantastic fun smile

Which shape is it?

I have a mate with a '97 GT wagon, he can get 600+km/tank cruising on the open road but they guzzle it when you put your foot down, or in stop-start stuff around town.

ETA:To echo cptsideways, stay well away from autos.

Cheers for the replies. smile
Have to say the thought of an auto hadn't even crossed my mind, so it's good to know the manual is better, anyway. I guess I also need to see size wise how it compares to the current Saab 95 estate - it's been years since I've been in a legacy, but if anything the boot looks larger anyway.

- and cheers, the GP really is a bit of a hoot smile
