what are best £ / Lb tuning methods (sub £1.5k)

For that money - an induction kit only, really. The good exhausts are about that amount on their own.

Anything more serious and you are looking @ £4-5k upwards.

Nitrous is the best £ for lb there is

£1k would buy a reliable 150hp system

Exhaust and air filter would be your first starting point. As it's normally aspirated (ie no turbo or supercharger) your increases in power are only going to be limited unless you do spend £4k for a supercharger (best power for buck though - 380+bhp for around £4k, or just over £5k or £6k for a turbo conversion). Cams would be your next step if you don't go the forced induction route. A remap would be vital if you fit cams (not only gets most power from your mods but vitally gets your fuelling spot on or you'll have major engine damage). Expect around a 10-15bhp increase with cams, but you're looking around a grand to fit the cams plus remap. Possibly only around 5bhp with air filter and exhaust. Good luck mate.
