New Impreza - rubbish!!!
Discussion
My Dad took delivery of his Impreza 2.0R just before Christmas.
This is his 4th Impreza - they're used for high-speed commuting over the Pennines and to date all have been absolutely bullet-proof.
Not so with the new model however. The Hill Start Assist warning light keeps coming on, and the local dealers (Monty's in Sheffield) have had 4 unsuccessful attempts to fix it. They've also had assistace from IM HQ in Coleshill, but to no avail.
It looks like Monty's will reverse the deal and my Dad will get his old car back.
Have Subaru lost the plot? The only Impreza hatchback I've seen on the road (apart from this one) is the Twyford dealer demonstrator.

Fair point. To tell the truth, they are both a bit disapointing next to the previous models.
I think that has been the same ever since the 2000 Model Impreza (P1) and also the Evo VIEven though some of the newer generation cars are faster but as a overall package i would have a P1 or a Evo VI over any of the newer generation ones if it was going to be for a weekend/occasional car. But i need at the moment a good alround with good A-B performance.

One of the NZ mags gave the new STi a car of the year award this month, first in the performance category over the M3 and Evo X, then overall as well. Can't be too bad then...
And it was that AA 'torque' magazine which is pretty useless anyway. But hey, a wins a win.
