Hi, I am thinking of getting an Impreza estate. Looked at one today y plate wrx, tatty condition which suits fine as I want it for work but its got fancy headlights the brakes look bigger than normal, bigger than normal but not massive like some exhausts, and its alegedly been tuned by pro drive. Does this sound like a prodrive conversion? No paperwork as the car is stolen recovered. Also how accurate is the dlvc site regarding colour. The car is black but the dvla site says blue!
When do these things need a cam belt change. Whats the average life of a clutch. Do problems with the syncro on 2nd rear there ugly head. The cars done 70k miles. Dvla tell me its a uk car. Do they all have trackers as standard.
Sorry for going on but for the last 20 years I have been a VW Driver and Things Japanese are a bit strang to me.
Regards Colin.

Hmmm, I'd avoid.
With these cars you need the history, as they need maintenance of engine and diff oil to keep them sweet. Failed diffs/turbos = big expense. Also, if it's been stolen you can guarantee it's been driven for at least some of it's life with NO respect. And upgrades are fine, so long as you can find out who did them and why. You can't so I'd avoid, you could have a nightmare in the future working out what's been done to it just to do a simple service (sourcing brake pads for example, if the calipers have been swapped).

There are tonnes of well looked after Impreza wagons out there, and if you extend your search to Legacy's the world is your lobster. Keep looking....

The Colour is Mica Black but the site says blue because the Black has blue speccles in it, like a metal flake finish. I just checked my sportwagon and it comes up Blue but the paint is Mica Black.
