Just a heads up for anyone who is looking for what appears to be a totally unmolested and original example of a 22B.

Its at a garage not far from me, in Chester:

Pricey, yes, but it looks like new. I may have to pop across there at the end of the week just to have a look- cant be many about in that kind of condition!

Gorgeous!

A thing of great beauty!

Also significant that the new shape STi seems to be being sold at a discount already - or is that a JDM import?

not sure if they are JDM or not, but I do really like the new STI, especially in black.

Its not a bad garage, they do have some good stuff in now and again.

Love the 22B though....cloud9

I'd rather have that tasty RB320 they've got on the site!

ten years time and i would say it will have a similarly iconic status to aforementioned 22B...

I have got one thanks biggrin and it's a cracker, but will it become a classic like the 22B - hoping so, but suspecting not...

In the UK perhaps, but the RB320 wasn't sold anywhere else to gain status there. IMO it isn't really different enough from the 'normal' STi in the way a 22b is either. I gewt the impression the RB5 is regarded as semi-classic in the UK now so the RB320 should follow that at least.

The question is... RB320 v s204, which wins? driving

I think the RB is a much better drive than the STi, but in an understated way, which is part of the problem. It is altogether better developed and getting close to (or at) the potential of the chassis. What it doesn't have is that nth degree of "specialness" that you get from the 22B, P1, and to a lesser extent the RB5.

The P1 is another UK-only car which I haven't had the opportunity to experience, but what makes it that special? Its really just an STi Type-R with DCCD removed, ABS added and a different suspension tune.

2 door body sets it apart, rated as probably the best set up official UK car, still commanding strong money for good examples. One of those cases where the whole is more than the sum of its parts, I guess.

Fair enough I suppose - all the STi Type-Rs were 2-door, but I guess you never officially got those in the UK. Maybe I'll try and have a go in a P1 if I'm on your side of the world at some stage thumbup
