I needed a new impreza engine recently as my last one died and bought one from API Engines (http://www.apiengines.com/). They gave me loads of helpful advice for fitting it and while it was a slow process fitting the engine at home wasn't difficult. Unfortunately there was a fault with the front crank seal and I suffered a significant oil leak after the engine was fitted and run up. They fitted me and the car in immediately and worked on it until the problem was resolved and tested. If anyone needs an engine for an impreza (I think they do other engines again) then I would not hesitate for a moment recommending them because when you need their support (as people occasionally will do) their after sales support is exceptional.

I have a blue top 4AG in one of my '2s from there, runs really well and the delivery was very fast - just when I needed it. Shame I didn't realise it wasn't a redtop until too late though but it looks like I won't try any force induction on it any time soon anyway.

In all my years on internet forums I don't think I have ever heard a bad word said about API.

I find their short and full engines a bit on the pricey side as compared to other sources i have come across in the last few months, however when you hear about service like that perhaps their charges don't seem quite so unreasonable after all.

Maybe next time i need an engine (which i hope won't be for a good long while yet) i'll take a closer look at them.

Well done API thumbup

David and API in general are the best guys!
I used to do a 200 mile round trip to get them to service my scoobs and didnt mind at all as was always treated well and they continuously exceeded my expectations.
