RX7 Sound

Ok, this is probably not going to be the best first post in the world, specially as i'm going to start it with...

I was watching The Fast and The Furious tonight and I was wondering whether an RX7 really sounds like the one Vin Diesel drove at the start. It makes a frankly pant-wettingly nice roar that I thought must be super imposed or something because I didn't think a rotary car would or could make a sound like that.

Hm now that you mention it, it does sound a bit gruff compared to the various RX7s I've heard, including some very naughty exhausts.

Yeah, that was the thing really. Couldn't find anything quite like it which made me think perhaps they'd enhanced it somewhat.

My single sounds better than the F&F RX7 anyway, lol!

Remember it's hollywood so the car sounds used will have been recorded much like a computer game, they may have gotten the RX7 sound mixed up with something else.

hehe, well that's that then. My next car choice will be based largely on the noise it makes so I think it's swaying towards the Monaro atm!!!

Cheers guys, just wanted to clear that up. All the ones on youtube sounded like farts in cans (no offence), and since the Supra and some others sounded about right it made me wonder.

an rx7 i know of has a screamer pipe fitted and is ear bleeding loud! its not a fart in a can noise either it is a low, loud grumble that sets car alarms off! however i do love the sound of a v8!!!! absolutely love my mates monaro. sounds awesome and has better fuel economy than a rex
