Am pondering what car to get next.. Had previously ignored Imprezas and Evo due to the low servicing periods ( I do a lot of miles!) however I would just like to check if these are still as low just in case I can have one!

I'd be looking at, for example, a 2004 2.0 WRX; can anyone confirm what the servicing interval is?

I know the earlier ones were due a service every 7500miles.

Also do the newer models; the 2005+ 2.5 WRX's have better intervals? I think these might be 10000 miles? is that correct?

Thanks

Thats good news. What sort of costs can be expected? When is the cam belt due (assuming its not a chain)? and how much is this?

My 20,000 mile service (done at 17,000 miles) cost about £250 from a main dealer. Cam belt is due at either 30,000 or 50,000 miles both of these are a major service. I've seen main dealers charging £400+ for these services.

If I go for a WRX with the Prodrive performance pack can anyone suggest a suitable insurer?
What does the PPP consist of? is it just engine mods or is it exhaust aswell?

PPP is a factory option so any insurer that would consider providing cover for a WRX should consider a WRX with a PPP, it'll just cost more to insure.

PPP is exhaust, map and some very minor ancillaries IIRC.

Plenty of people would advocate ignoring a PPP and going to someone like TSL or Greenwood for a stage 1 tune which would probably yield more power for a comparable price, but a PPP should be fully covered by dealer/manufacturer warranty.

Buy one of the regular jap magazines and ring the insurance brokers in the back. I saved myself £500 this way.
