Sticking caliper (Subaru Forester) ....help!!
Discussion
Hello
I replaced my rear discs and pads at the weekend (1997 Forester S/tb) but the driver's side disc is bloody hot after a run. I took it to a local garage and they said it all looks fine but there might some grit in the caliper making it stick.
So I either need a new caplier (single pot sliding) or a rebuild kit by friday (off to France next week)
Ideas, options or any help gratefully recieved.
Thanks
Mark

It sounds like the caliper is sticking and needs to be taken apart and refurbished with a replacement seals kits. I would also go as far as draining all the brake fluid from your system and refilling with good quality fresh fluid. If there is crap in the system a flush and refill will clear it out otherwise the same may happen to another caliper, and while you're on holiday/far away from home you don't need all that malarky to ruin the trip. Having plenty of time to do it means you can fix it, drive it for a couple of days just to make sure all is good, so if there is anything else needs doing you can fix it in good time.I replaced my rear discs and pads at the weekend (1997 Forester S/tb) but the driver's side disc is bloody hot after a run.
