NEW SUBARU IMPREZA COUPE....
Discussion
This is more like it!!

If they genuinely produce this car and it comes out in a couple or so years looking exactly like this...I'll be in the queue!!

I think that looks the dogs danglies and about as radical as i'd like it. Obviously it has strong elements of the current hatchback but in 2-door guise and with those oh so Prodrive P2 looks i'll take three. One in Black, one in White, and the other in Blue!!
Gimme Gimme!!

if so, may I be the first in the queue to buy your current bodged-up old estate car?

As someone who has no time for fashion, that Subaru Coupe doesn't look quite as bad as most modern cars. (I'm saying I like it

Bugger off!!

The new hatch looks like a Focus with a big bonnet scoop.
The new coupe looks like an Astra. It even has the plate ending VXL.
Subaru will be all about good mpg from the boxer diesel nowadays, the days of competing with the evo in public is over. They have just messed up its design too many times now. The diesel will probably sound the same as the petrol anyway.

Ooh. Looks like a modern take on the CRX.
I'm completely failing to see the similarity between that Impreza coupe, which is quite nice, and a CRX, which is a cardboard box.Hopefully they'll be able to cut the weight down with the coupe too
(Chopping 100kg or so from the STI hatch would give ~1380, a 240kg advantage over the Evo X)Gazboy said:

Given the choice of this 'coupe' as a diesel daily driver, or as a super fandango flame spitting weekend toy, I'd rather have the former as imo Imprezas are not special enough to be the latter and get my kicks elsewhere. The new coupe looks like an Astra. It even has the plate ending VXL.

It is an improvement on the current car it has to be said. I would possibly buy one if it looked like that but it does look like who ever photoshopped it was being lazy and took the front bumper from the VXR and didnt even bother to change the plate.
All this talk of the Impreza being dead in the water because of the looks is kind of pointless anyway. If the car is a successful rally car, which is looking possible after the first outing, people will buy it anyway. Just look at the bugeye, people bought that!

Is that the Subaru coupe that will be built on the same platform as the Toyota "AE86" replacement? IIRC, the Toyota is scheduled to be cheaper and IMHO better looking.
Co-developed platform, Subaru engines. No-one has much idea about price at the current stage of development so not sure what makes you think that. Subaru are planning two versions AFAIK, 2.0NA RWD and 2.5T AWD, while Toyota may just stick with a higher tuned NA RWD version. But who knows really, most of the information around is just speculation.Gassing Station | Japanese Chat | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
