£8K sounds a bit steep with 66K miles on the clock. It would have to be truly mint and completely unmolested at that price.

Is it from a Subaru stealership?? smile

No its from an independent dealer specialising in Subarus. Looks in top condition in the pictures ive seen but pictures can hide a multitude of sins biggrin Will be giving it a good look over.
Any idea when it would have been due a cambelt change? Just after anything to haggle with

It would have had a new cambelt and major service at 50K miles. If it's got a full service history it would have been done already and you should ask to see the service history and bills/receipts for the work done.

Have a look in PH classifieds as there are plenty of really nice scooby's for sale with full service historys, in really good condition, and for less money, from private sellers. thumbup

Unfortunately Im not in a position to buy a private car. Had no interest in my ST220 so Im gonna have to
part ex. Not an ideal situation but it saves on tyre kickers and time wasters which Ive had plenty of biggrin

I think it's a reasonable price - if it's a proper UK300

You can get a mint blobeye for that kind of money from a trader with less miles if you shop around. I may get burned for saying this, but dont get fooled by the limited edition sticker, its only a couple of spare parts away from being a standard WRX. IIRC it didnt come standard with PPP either so will only be 215bhp unless it was added as an option. Subaru have a habit of releasing limited editions when they are about to change a model, they just throw a few options on it and make a sticker. They did a blobeye UK300 with different seats and some fog light covers and other bits, and they did the GB270 Hawkeye which got the PPP and a few other bits. They are over priced as a rule for what they are and you can get a newer car with less miles and through a few bits at it yourself.
I have driven the bugeye and blobeye with PPP and the difference is very noticable too in terms of power and performance, so in my opinion the newer car is the better option.

Im waiting for the flameingsilly

Didnt buy the one I originally looked at, was overpriced and and had some suspect areas on ie bodged looking wiring under the bonnet, an incorrectly plumbed in manual boost controller and badly kerbed alloys.

Found one cheaper and in ten times better condition. Picking it up today. Has the PPP, 6 pot AP Racing brakes, and various other things. Rather giddy at the minute biggrin
Went for the bugeye cos I prefer the looks of the bugeye (only when they have the prodrive lights fitted anyway) over the later models.
Heres the one Ive gone for

It does look like a good one and it seems that someone has spent some serious money on it, AP's are not cheap. I wasnt suggesting the bug isnt a good car by the way, its great, in fact it was driving a bug that got me hooked in the first place. I was just talking value for money in relation to the cost of the first car you were looking at;)

Well had it a day now, blown 3/4 of a tank of vpower probably averaging about 10 mpg biggrin but worth every penny. Had a pleasent surprise when checking it over found a decat up-pipe and sports cat down pipe fitted.
Strangely though it has a standard centre section fitted and then onto a backbox of unkown origin. God knows where the prodrive centre has gone rolleyes

Didnt have a proper look but does the standard centre section have a cat in it? If so could I get a decat centre section and still pass MOT with just the sports cat in the downpipe?

You only need 1 CAT to get through emissions testing so if you now have a full downpipe with a single high flow cat in it just after the turbo get rid of the OEM center pipe in favour of a stainless steel unresonated pipe and it should sound and go very well. That gives you a 3 piece exhasut system.

It may be though that you have the prodrive cat and another cat after that in which case you'll need the 2 piece cat replacement center pipe and you're good to go. That gives you a 4 piece exhasust system.

You'll have one or the other thumbup

Sounds confusing biggrin Im gonna get it jacked up tomorrow weather permitting and have a proper look and see exactly what I have. I assume the prodrive cat is marked as such? IE says prodrive on it biggrin

Possibly stamped.

It's only recently they have started welding a small plaque to their CAT's/exhaust pipes with Prodrive etched onto it so it depends how old they are.

Ah right. PPP was fitted in 2001 so probably not.
