Quick Bit of Scooby Advice...
Discussion
Morning people,
I might be about to join the Impreza fold - sort of. My other half is about to get a new job and she's managed to wangle a lease agreement on an Impreza Sti (new shape). All good so far. She loves them and I've always fancied one for a bit.
The only thing that concerns me is the fact that we live on the outskirts of Manchester city centre and I've heard various horror stories of people having Imprezas & Evos nicked whilst they are actually in their own homes and nasty men with baseball bats asking for the keys.
I'm tempted to put these stories down to urban myth but I've heard a few stories from pretty reliable friends.
Is the new model as much of a theft magnet? Have any people on here had similar problems? (The car will be driveway or on-street parked).
Any advice greatly appreciated...

Had an 04 Scooby sti and Skyline both of which I parked in front of my house.
I would never buy a car to be worried it might be nicked.
If they want its there and insured.
Exactly. Why worry about something that *might* happen, I'd worry more about the cost of putting fuel in the thing :Hehe:I would never buy a car to be worried it might be nicked.

My hawkeye STi has a tracker, the system also allows you to remotely immobilise the car by sending it a text message, I assume the hatch STis have the same system in them. You can't drive it even with the keys. The only way to start the engine is with another text message. They're not easy cars to pinch, don't worry about it.
My girlfriend nearly called the AA out to it when I remotely immobilised it when she took it to work

Don't worry about it being knicked, surely "they've" won if we all worry before we've even purchased a decent car?

Nothing sinister
Don't mind roughing it occasionally though
