Toyota Starlet GT suspension- Mongol rally help!
Discussion
Hi guys,
My brother is currently involved in the Mongol Rally (team billy one mate) in a 1991 Toyota Starlet (EP80). They've taken some extra suspension struts etc with them but they're from an imported GT (EP82).
My question is this, is the suspension from the GT (import) the same height and just stiffened or is it lowered as well? The local Toymota dealer was very helpfull but couldnt give a definative answer.
Ukrainian roads are apparently not all they could be and stiffened struts would be beneficial, but lowered would be no good due to all the gumpf they have with them.
Cheers all,
Neil

Just swap the springs around, struts will have stiffer damping yes. I'd suggest to fit some towing assisters front & rear to the springs, or add some ride height by moving the spring plates upwards, worked wonders on the PDC trips across the desert.
