New car alternative

Been looking around for a new car in the not to distant future & have come to a starlet gt/glanza variant. Any ideas on an alternative to this same sort of price, performance, running costs etc as I cant think of anything of the top of my head im 20 so insurance costs are my biggest problem realy not sure what group starlets are but the insurance is ok
