Wald International GT-R
Run for cover - it's more GT-R news...
Apologies in advance for those who don’t like GT-R news but unfortunately there is more this week. Wald International has been throwing bodykits around left right and centre at the moment – E90 3 Series, BMW M5 and Merc C Class – and now is the turn of the GT-R.
This is an early image of a design that is still in development and shows what can be best described as a track-orientated look. Possibly the most interesting feature is the flared rear wheel arches but you also get a new front bumper design, side skirts , new rear wing and various other bits of carbon fibre.
The car also appears to be lowered although there is no word yet on mechanical changes.
Discussion
Really just a case of adding 'stuff' for 'stuffs' sake... And the end result looks fussy (what's with the stick on rear arches..??)
I also remember reading about how finely honed the GT-R's aerodynamics are. No doubt Wald have went through a similar scale testing regime to Nissan during development of these 'enhancements'.

Definitely not keen on the riveted rear arches, but that back shot looks pretty good. I know what some people mean though, doing things like this really are lost after a while. I know there are some people out there who would probably go and buy an aftermarket bodykit for this type of car, but with Nissan doing such a brilliant job of a relatively in-expensive 'supercar', i really wouldn't bother...
Still, for a mock-up, it looks pretty good from front and back.

No, no, no, no, no, no. Hopefully that's just a photoshop effort, and they've not committed anything to creating tools for that fussy mess.
It is odd how manufacturers deliberately hold back on the potential of a vehicle though, just leaving it all there to be unlocked by the simple addition of a K+N air filter and a heap of fibreglass nonsense, isn't it? They're all clearly idiots.

Why? Makes me wonder if there is a reverse phrase to "Gilding a turd".... Sh*tting up a Beauty perhaps?
I had riveted over arches like that on my '86 Cavalier POS while at Uni, that looks rubbish too.
I'd be far more interested in a stock looking car with more power (and lower 'ring time)
