Which Forester Turbo? STI, S-Turbo or XT

I'll have a guess at S-Turbo

The UK and Jap models have different engine spec's

The Jap spec runs the Impreza WRX engine 225BHP (or there abouts)

and the UK fozzy has a smaller turbo and produces about 177BHP

apart from that they are the same

What age Forester? Power outputs of the original shape vary from not much(~170bhp) for some UK/Aus models, up to 240/250bhp for JDM versions.

Jap specs are usually better specced than UK cars i.e. nicer interiors, more toys, better power output etc...

Only thing is it will need a remap to run on UK 99RON as a minimum. Don't run them on 95RON or eventually it will go pop and you'll need a new lump, and FFS as Ben has suggested....

Don't get an Auto!!
