ah ok is there any way of getting more power at all?? prefer the look of the fto to the supra's.. ant to the message above, i use hand controls which basically attatch to the pedals and u pull a leaver to acclerate and push to brake
Ok i never knew how that worked, cheers. The problem you have with the GR is the lack of power from the start.
IMO you could work on the breathing, air filter, and exhaust to start off with.
Depending on the wheel size you could buy a smaller set, if standard then leave as is.
Strip the interior (not much to get rid of)
Might be worth finding a GPX instead as it will be cheaper and less hastle, unless the hand controls cost alot to install?

would it be worth putting the mivec engine and auto box in? i no it wld be easier to buy a mivec but iv spent alot on the car already so dont really want to get rid...
you can get bolt on turbo kits that gives an extra 100bhpwhere?
you *cannot* even the 1.8 can't

are those turbo kits any good? just seems a bit dodgy fitting a turbo to an engine that wasnt designed for one... will the components beable to withstand the extra pressure given by the turbo?
i wouldnt bother, its a high comp engine which means low boost or bang. As you already know.

check the australian FTO site for a guide on turboing an GR FTO
Main difficulty is the "up / down" pipe due to the V6 configuration if you want a single turbo, but it should not be hard for a custom exhaust manufacturer to sort out.
Turbo conversion kits for your 6A12 (2 litre V6) Mitsubishi FTO.

This fabulous low boost (up to 8 psi) will work fabulously without having to open your engine. Fully reliable with intercooler, and additional fuel, this conversion will pass emissions checks and can boost the power of these great little cars to around 300 bhp!!! Prices from £3114 (supply), plus fitting if required.
Kit includes everything needed, inc T25 turbo (Ball bearing turbo available at extra cost), all plumbing and pipes, intercooler, additional fuel injectors and controller. This kit can be fitted by an average competent mechanic
some info that i got off the site

The Mitsubishi V6 engine is very tight to work on, and because of this the Turbo kit is also a little harder than most cars, and will take a little longer. the kit is single Turbo with crossover pipe. Its very effective at converting a nippy little car into a very fast one, and worth all the effort.

All depends on how much power your after and how much money your willing to throw at this
