impreza version 7 sti
Discussion
for obvious reasons there are a fair few well priced imprezas on the market at the moment.
Im quite taken with the version 7 bugeye in sti guise, with the imports appearing to be very good value. Trouble is, i cant seem to find much info on them - anybody have one/ know anything about them that they could share?
Just the usual stuff really, as well as any potential issues etc. It would be used as my daily driver, mainly motorways, for the days when its a bit too miserable to take my 205 gti, and would need to double up as something for a bit of fun at the weekend.
Never been down the impreza route before - have just come from a tuned focus ST and prior to that a 350z and various type r hondas so after something that will give me a balance of performance and practicality as well as reliability
cheers

If you want practicality get yourself a V7 STi Sportwagon (JDM import model only), there are a few about. They have the load carrying capability of an estate with the go and handling of an STi. Looks really good in WR Blue with the big scoop sticking out the top of the bonnet. They're reliable, handle like nothing you've ever driven before and are pretty damn quick!!
My sportwagon is a V7 (MY02) WRX but i swapped the WRX engine for a V8(MY03) STi engine, ECU and full V7 STi wiring loom. Not quite an STi as it doesn't have the 6spd Gearbox/Diffs, STi suspension, wider track or larger bonnet scoop but it sure goes well enough and looks totally bog standard.
Practical and fast coupled with proper stealthy looks!! Go on treat yourself!!

Once your in the car youll love it, just find a good one, if I were to get another I would:
Make sure its been looked after with some sort of service history, I know its pretty ropey being an import.
Make sure the engine light isnt on.
Make sure theres no oil leaks.
Bonus if its been mapped for UK fuel

Get a good one and you will love it
