Thinking about getting a boost gauge for the Legacy just to keep more of an eye on what its doing etc, but have realised I know practically nothing about them...so enlighten me!
-Are expensive ones really that much better than cheapos and what makes the difference?
-Brands to go for or stay away from?
-Best way of plumbing them in?
I rather like these:
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Car-parts...
but its certainly towards the expensive end of things.
Or is this:
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=19...
any good?
I assume the likes of these:
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Car-parts...
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Car-parts...
are cheap for a reason?
Any advice appreciated.

Why are you bothering with a boost guage Ben, do those hairdryers actually make any??
I think the first guage looks favourite

Thats what I want to find out! I haven't actually found any boost figures for mine, the older GTBs were I think 10psi from the primary and 14 secondary but the Rev D BH5 has higher compression (9:1 up from 8.5) and different turbos so might be different. The Defi gauges are very nice (factory fit on some newage STIs) and being matt black when off will match the factory instruments perfectly, but ten times the price is quite a difference. Maybe after Christmas...

A friend of mine recently fitted Defi gauges to his STI. Have to admit that, with the black/orange display, they looked the dogs danglies. I think I will have a couple fitted to the Evo but think they look a bit like an after-thought on the top of the Evo dash and look better on the A-pillar mounts.
defi gauges r worth the wait son im getting mine from revolutin247.com after crimbo with a carbon triple gauge pod (not the chunky zero sport one) u need the defi controller as well! not cheap i know, but yer getting quality products with plenty 2 play with on the controller! "defi" a thumbs up from me
