gearbox advise

I have a W reg subaru classic about 84k on the clock, there is bad crunching between 3rd and 4th when accelorating, my friend said about the synchro and that it might be better to echange the gearbox for a re-conditioned one rather than a repair, advise much appreciated

Hi

You have 2 choices at this stage:

1) Have your gearbox opened up. Then have a look at whats worn out. Could be a few hundred ££. could be £1000+

The other oprion which most do is pop in a used gearbox. Most place charge around 300-400 for a gearbo+fitting+possibly a clutch.

David @ api impreza(google api impreza) will give you good, HONEST advice. He wont be the cheapest (or the dearest), but the goods will be top notch.
