RWD gearbox to use with EJ20 Subaru engine
Discussion
I'm considering a crazy scheme at the moment. For it to work I need a RWD gearbox for use with a Subaru EJ20 engine. I know I can use the standard Subaru box with some mods, but that's a considerable weight & size penalty which I can do without given that the application I have in mind is not based on an Impreza shell.
Something like a Borg Warner T5 would be ideal, although I suspect no-one makes clutches and bell housings for this application. Whatever I pick, it will need to deal with 300 to 350 bhp, depending on how much cash I feel like throwing at an engine.

Couldnt you find any other rwd car gearbox that has the same shaft diamiter and have an adapter plate machined? Also if its for an impreza, i was thinking of doing it too, but be careful. The rear diffs/drive shafts on the impreza anrt made for that kind of abuse, and ive heard all sorts of horror stories of after a few thousand miles of diffs going pop, the worst was the whole diff mounting brackets etc shearing off.
Ive heard of people using s14 diffs, rx7 diffs etc and adding extra strength to the mounts, but ive no idea if that required custom shafts, props etc
Hope that helps
