Nissan Micra Immobilisor
Discussion
My wife has a 1995 Nissan Micra. Problem is that the remote for the immobilser plays up and takes an age to turn off. Due to the age of the car we don't feel it needs to be on. I heard that there is an overide switch.. probably a nasty runour but is there any way of disarming it permanently..??
95 Micras didn`t have OE immobilisers so must be something aftermarket or possibly a Nissan accessory. The OE immobilisers fitted from about 96 were transponder chips in the key with a software lock which arm and disarm automatically when the ignition is switched on/off. If its Nissan accessory probably NATS the remote will be a black flattened oval shape with 2 buttons side by side. These can only be programmed by a dealer using Nissan Consult. Probably best to get someone to remove it and bin it after all this time.

Tis an aftermarket unit in that case. You need to try an find the control box to try to identify what make it is ~ probly behind the dash somewhere. Trace the wiring back from the LED. Another option is to obtain a self learning universal remote, these read the code from a functioning original and replicate it. These only work from fixed code remotes not rolling code ones but you should be OK.
