Ive owned an rx7 previously, so i can give a little info on them.
In standard guise, they use alot of fuel, i was lucky to get around 15mpg from a tank, that was a mix of town and cruising to/from home at 60mph. The first day i picked it up and drove it like my hair was on fire, i got less then 9mpg
The oil usage isnt as bad as people make out. As i didnt use mine every day, i just checked it before i started it each time, and tbh i rarely had to top it up. Best thing to use is pure mineral oil, no synthetics as they ruin the seals in the engine.
Have to run them on high octane fuel, mine was on v-power, and as an added precaution, i used to add a little 2 stroke oil to the fuel to help lubricate the tips more. Didnt have any adverse effects, and it made it smell lovely
Even with standard suspension, the suspension is sublime
The grip in the dry was as good as my imprezas, and with the standard lsd you can feel it locking up and pushing you out of corners. In the wet it was still awsome, would rarely step out unless you were really pushing it, or you intended to do so, like i did, everywhere i could 
As for looking after them, oil & filter change every 2-3k, coolant flush and change every 6 months, and ALWAYS warm them up thoroughly before doing and hard driving, and let them cool down before shutting them off. If you dont, you risk blowing the rotor tips, fecking the water seals or even warping the housings. Also the stock water gauge is about as useful as mk4slowrider in COD, get an aftermarket one to see a proper temp reading.
The turbos on a stock engine are sequential, so you should feel a little hesitation/then kick around 4.5k as the second one comes online. Only annoying when you are coming out of a greesy corner and it makes the arse step out on you, like mine did

He has a pulsar and hes calling your evo7 crap? He is clearly a moron 
RX7s are fantastic and with mods will be as quick as your evo7, but it takes alot more driver skill to be quick than your evo.

yep before the evo i had a r33 gtr and he thought his pulsar was better too,its ok i know he's a moron,but hes good for a windup lol
thing is his pulsar looks like postman pat's van,so after the evo do you think i will enjoy a rex ?

Depends what you want - do you like the "totally capable" nature of the Evo (just cuck it in and you will always have enough grip) or are you looking for something with a bit more feel and balance? Evos are a really good, but quite different to an RX-7 which is much more of a "classic" lightweight RWD car.

Like wadeski says, totally different drive. The Rx will require more effort and skill to be quick, whereas the evo does alot for you (AWD grip, AYC etc), but if you like the feeling when you do get it right, you will love the rex. If you just want the car to be capable and dont want to balance the car near the limit, then I would stick to the Evo. Both very good cars but totally different in the way they drive. I think the GTi-R is often over looked. A shame because you can pick them up for not a lot of money.
Ok they won't win any beauty contests, but they can be made to look ok and have an aggresive edge to them. Also fast, small and therefore nimble. Also AWD is certainly a bonus over many of todays FWD only hot hatches.
A decent GTi-R will make mince meet of any Civic Type R (and IMO manage to look better too).
Interior is typical grey plastic Nissan, but if people can over look that in the 200SX then I can't see why they can't in the GTi-R.
RX7 - probably one of the best looking Japanese cars ever. Still pretty quick and fairly tunable. But more compromised and likely bigger bills.
If it was about going fast and using it everyday - GTi-R.
If it was more of a weekend car to simply enjoy being out in and looking at it while its parked up in a pub car park then the RX7 wins hands down.

cheers guy's,well i have had a 300zx so i know about rear wheel drive cars and thay do catch you out alot lol sometimes scary and other times funny,i have my van which i run around in so am really just after a toy,i do flocking and metal polishing so its going to be a bit of a demo car too,
