Hello all, well after a LOT of looking around I am considering going for one of the following cars:

1. Evo 4/5
2. STI Type R/RA

Now it would be used for weekend blasts and the odd trackdays, so which would be better suited as standard?

Thanks

Lee

If it was my money I'd go for the scooby. The Evo will make a better trackday car but the scooby will be a better all rounder.

Evo 5 was the first one I actually started to like the look of and looks way better than a 4.

I would get a nice 5 or 6 mate.

From memory of reading somewhere I thought the engines in an Evo 5's could take more power than an Evo 4 so if you wanted to tune it I would go for a 5.
However being an impreza owner I would recomend the type ra.

Brand new the Evo's were better cars.

10 years on, the Scoobies are better cars.

More to do with generally running of the car than outright performance, also repair bills seem to be quite a bit more for an Evo.

I looked at both...

I have a Scoobie Sti.

Although, i would still love an Evo6!!!

As long as you run the UK spec STIs on super unleaded ( V power etc) the standard STI will probably be more durable than the P1. That is a bit of a sweeping statement but I'm talking about both cars having the same usage and conditions and both being serviced as per schedule. I haven't actualy owned the P1 but i know a few who have and they all said the P1 is more hardcore than the stock STI (UK spec).
