Upping the power on the GT is a five step process my friend:
Step 1 - Service!
Step 2 - Breathing and ECU (hard to improve much in my limited experience)
Step 3 - Internal engine mods, management
Step 4 - Disappointment
Step 5 - Transplant SR20DET, repeat steps 1-4 until desired power level (or limit of gearbox / chassis / modification budget) is reached
GT's are more about the handling - they corner faster than they appear capable of at first. Plus they are bargainous if you get a well looked after one. Not too shabby in a straight line but at the end of the day you are looking at 1.3-1.4 ton car with ~150bhp and 134lbft. Nice drive though - I miss mine!

I think he means a SR20DET froma Pulsar as its FWD - unless of course you change the Primera to RWD - it has been done.you could put a rwd engine in, in east west config, but youd need to change a lot of crap... and a lot of custom work would be required, manifolds, brackets, mounts, water housings, a lot more than you could ever imagine.

The guy that tuned my old Charade GTxx did a turbo conversion on a Primera GT for a customer of his. Nistune ECU, stock SR20DE engine with the manifold and turbo from a Pulsar GTi-R bolted on, along with a front mount, and slightly larger injectors.I drove it running a mild tune and 9psi it was a very quick car for what it was, almost zero lag and pulled incredibly well. It felt more like driving a bigger capacity NA engine than a turbo.
S14 SR20's will be a big job, becasue the block has all the fixings for a RWD.
SR20DET's came in lots of cars in Transverse form....an even easier conversion is use the GTiR manifold and turbo, drill and tap the block for the oil lines then some bigger injectors and your ready for mapping on the ECU of your choice. The standard 10:1 C/R can handle 10-12psi easy.
Or you could stay N/A and use a SR20VE...190hp standard and rev to 8k.
