When buying an jap imported car, whether freshly imported or one thats been in the UK for a while, what things do you have to check for to make sure its all kosher?
How would i know the mileage is correct, its a genuine example of the model they say it is etc....?

my advice would be to do your homework. Check for what the car "should" have or not have. Check that its been imported by a reputable company as they usually handle the history of the car and should have records.

If its a fresh import its worth paying to have it Uk ready, which may require a change of lights, mot, registration etc etc.

If it smells fishy walk away, most importers are good at what they do and you get re-assurance from this. It may cost more, but is worth it.
