I have got a 56 base model forester. It’s got 27k on it and coming up to its 3rd service just before the warranty runs out.
The dealer said that it needs 36k service which does ‘all the oils’ and will be £410 + £10 a day for a curtsy car.
Anybody know of a local specialist? Something that will not invalidate warranty this close to the end?

If it's a turbo forester servicing is every 10,000miles same as newage WRX/STi Impreza's in which case your next service is 30,000 miles or 3yrs. If it's a non-turbo forester then it's every 12,000 miles whether or not the warranty is running out, makes no odds at all. With 27,000 miles on the clock you've still got either 3,000 or 9,000 miles yet to go. For a non-turbo forester 9,000 miles sounds pretty early to me unless the car is coming up to 3years old and has done low mileage for the year in which case it will be the same as a 36,000 mile service, whichever comes first.
