Did some searching, didnt find much info, possibly looking at an R33 GTST spec 2 type m or something like that.
What sort of performance are they out of the box, single turbo ones?
Anything to look out for?
Whats the mpg like? Used to poor mpg already, but something better than 20 would be nice
Cant stretch to a GTR unfortunatly so its going to have to be a GTST-T?

I used to have a standard(ish) R33GTSt a couple of years ago. It was pretty good but felt like it could do with a bit more power to carry the weight, and the suspension was a bit too soft IMO. I'm not too sure about fuel economy as I only used it at weekends. I don't think there are many issues to look out for with a standard car, the only issues I have seen is rust (as with all older Nissans!) and badly modified examples.
You say 'unfortunately you can't get a GTR'...
Well, I was in a position where I could of bought a GTR, but now currently own a 407bhp R33GTSt spec2 type M. They are totally different cars IMO.
I own a tuned GTS because 4 wheel drive isn't my thing (along with high prices for parts with the RB26...)
It is completely different to a standard car as you can imagine, and really is a handfull when trying to put the power down
This may not be to your taste as it is a dangerous car with no driver aids... but have to admit I love it!

Mines pretty standard but with very hard suspension and I love it. It's still got the two stage boost so if driven nicely I the fuel economy should be OKish I wouldn't know
I've had no problems in 18 months of ownership and though not massively quick it's a superb A road and motorway cruiser.

Between this and an 840ci
How about a V8 engine, 5.7 litres and 6 speed manual?
LHD I can understand, although after a weekend with it, its no bother.
But if you want a fast, cheap to run daily driver they are very capable. Lots of tuning possibilities too.
A Ls1 Fbody would run rings round a GTTs stock for stock.
That said, I'm sure the GTS is a fine car, prefer the R32 myself in terms of looks. But I've never been sure what you get for your money over a 200SX?
A GTR32 is on my personal "want list", personally don't think I could settle for a lesser model.

Sorry I did see you have one, just America hasnt made a good looking car for a long time in my eyes, and I am out of Dodge Charger money

I think that's a great looking car.
I am sure you enjoy yours, but its not for me, I prefer brute looks as opposed to curvy looks
If I was to buy a newish American car would be the new Charger, why I like the brute looks
No doubt though the Chevy V8 is an awesome engine

I've just bought myself a 1997 series 2 R33 GTS-T and the performance isn't bad. 245BHP @ 6400rpm but potential for lots more.
Standard car (like the one I have just bought) driven carefully will do 10 litres per 100km (I live in Australia so you'll have to convert that into mpg for it to mean anything). Drive any turbo car on-boost all the time and the petrol won't last long though!
As already mentioned, suspension is a bit soft so I'll be replacing that soon, followed by exhaust, filter and a remap.
I think the only difference between the standard GTS-T and the M spec is that the M-spec has the active limited slip diff from the GTR as opposed to the viscous coupling limited slip diff on the standard R33 GTS-T. Not sure how it works - I think it can lock the diff if it senses slip or something like that.

Hmmm... an extra 2 cylinders But if you want a fast, cheap to run daily driver they are very capable. Lots of tuning possibilities too.

In power to weight terms there can'rt be much in it, the S14 even looks pretty similar.
Part of me says buy a 200sx and save up for a GTR and bypass the GTS altogether. :hide:
