NIssan 350z - any long term ownership issues?
Discussion
Servicing at Nissan isnt too bad, I just had a P2 on my Z for £260.
Tyres not cheap (245/45/18 on the back, 225 on front) so try and get one with good rubber
Brake pads around £80, not including fitting.
Spark plugs hugely expensive if done through dealer, needed every 50k or so. Nissan quoted me £180! I bought genuine items from eBay for £30 and my mate (Honda mech) fitted for £10 :-)
Other points - reliable, thirsty, good fun, insurance cheap - we pay £420 for both of us, comfy over long distances, traction control lets the tail go a little before kicking in - turning it off is good fun - but wear two pairs of pants when when if your going to turn it off.
Get one - they are going for bargain prices at the minute, love mine.
Edited to say - check 350z.uk.com for all the common problems, there are not too many.

We have had our 08' Z Roadster for six months now... Paid £136 last month for a P1 service at our local Main Nissan Dealer. Tyres on the rear don't last long either, approx 8000 miles. Lovely growl from V6 engine with twin induction further enhanced with a Fujita Competition Air kit..
Any niggles or problems so far ?.
Gearbox thrust bearing is noisy on tickover (characteristic of the car).
Paint is a weak point and can be easily marked..
Rattle and squeaking from driver side and passenger doors.. (sorted with a bit of spray grease in the right orifice)
So far, totally reliable.. the car loves 98 ron petrol and pretty much eats a tank full on a fun day out 18 gallons !!.. Economy can range from 18 - 27mpg depending on trip.. Average 24mpg..
The 300+ bhp is accessable from low rpm and can be exploited quiclky and easily.
Insurance for both of us is approx £30 per month fully comp, £0 voluntary excess and with protected no claims..
