Just been taking a look at these but cant seem to find any stats on performance ie. 0-60 top speed. Also has anyone had any experience with the auto box in these as ive heard mixed reports from reviews. Any thing else to look out for on the fto would be a help aswell.

cheers

Rob

find a GPX manual.
GR Autos make about 100bhp at the wheels, so is fairly pathetic TBH.
Also prepare for a shock when you get an insurance quote.

There are like 4 different engines for the FTO, 2 or 3 of them 2.0 litre V6's.

There's only one fast model, which by today's standard isn't actually that quick. The lesser models are probably really slow.

I can't see that strapping an auto box to a revvy engine can be a good thing either.

Nice looking car, but can't see it being fast, fun or economical. You'd be better off with a V8 like a Camaro LT1 auto. Better mpg and a MASSIVE performance difference.

3 engines.
1.8 Gs, 2.0 GR and 2.0GPX.
2.0GPX manual is as quick as a Civic Type R, so not that slow smile

Wasn't there another 2.0 option? 170hp and 180hp of the non MIVEC engine? Think it was introduced as a revision, not sure what year though, but was later on.

As for speed, well I know my 200SX had no probs with them. What are they like to 100mph? 0-60mph is ok for FWD.

Maybe I'm being hard on them to be honest. I know I went up against on last year in the z28. It was a nice, very tidy red one which evidently had a few mods on. Possibly one of the best looking and tidiest ones I've seen. That said, it wasn't even a race. Huge performance difference between what I was in and the FTO.

even though 200 where officially imported, all insurance companies prefer to call them all 'grey' imports.
hence adding £500 to the insurance premium.

Not only that, the FTO was never sold here, hence panels are rather expensive to obtain in the event of a crash, meaning that many of the first batches that arrived in the country that were involved in accidents were just written off instead of repaired.

they where.
200 or 250 Ralliart versions in 2001 (IIRC).
rest are imports.

Still, the body panels would have been shipped over from Japan, at great expense, hence high premiums and the likelihood of the car being written off rather than repaired.
